Hi Russell,

Thanks for your interest in Fluid and it's great to hear that word is
getting out about the project!

Your question regarding uPortal 2 accessibility and Fluid is a very good
one. The Fluid project will be working with the uPortal community to improve
accessibility of uPortal 3 by delivering:

1. a designer's toolkit which advises designers and developers on how to
deliver more accessible interfaces.

2. a library of reusable user interface components that have been designed
with accessibility in mind.

As for specifications compliance, we will be following future specifications
that facilitate accessibility of "Web 2.0" interfaces. ARIA, WCAG 2.0, and
ISO AccessForAll are three specifications we will be using in the project.

I am not familiar with DDA or SENDA, so I don't know if any of the
specifications supported by Fluid satisfies the legislation.

You can find more information about Fluid-supported specifications can be
found here:
http://fluidproject.org/index.php/semantics-and-specifications

I hope that helps answer your inquiry and please feel free to use this
mailing list (fluid-talk at fluidproject.org) as a forum so that others can get
involved.

Take care,

- Jonathan.
